Turlock church raises money for World Youth Day trip

News10 - In an effort to raise over $40,000 the parents and students of Sacred Heart Parish in Turlock held a large parking lot sale Sunday.

Church parishioners decided to hold the sale in order to raise money to send several kids to Spain to greet the Pope during the 2011 World Youth Day celebration.

According to parishioner Monica Sliva, the church needs to raise $48,000 in order to make the trip possible.

The event will take place at 1200 Lyons Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Along with many local vendors, the event will feature raffles, games and prizes.
